Bookworm and longtime tennis fanatic. Will watch almost any WTA match. I sometimes enjoy an ATP match (but that's rarer all the time).

21yo Mika Brunold of Switzerland becomes the 2nd active ATP to come out as gay in 2025, follow Joao Reis Da Silva.

Brunold climbed to a career high #307 this year, reaching his first ATP Challenger semifinal in June and VERY narrowly falling to #62 Reilly Opelka in October.

de Minaur is through to the semis over Fritz ... with the same match and set record as Fritz but having won .68% more games 😶

Nobody needed that win more than Alex. I was so scared he’d implode at the end. But he did it!✨

Bonus: Mama 😈 and Katie hugging and beaming.

This relationship will continue to isolate Elena from the rest of the tour. This is embarrassing and weird.
Today, when Elena Rybakina won the year end championships, with her now-unbanned (“allegedly”) abusive situationship back as her coach, she REFUSED TO TAKE A PHOTO WITH THE WTA CEO 🎾

I don’t think I can be happy for her success!!! I hate that Vukov is back in the picture!!

Congrats to Elena Rybakina, winner of the 2025 WTA Finals.

Elena was the last player in but defeated No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, 6-3, 7-6 (0). Rybakina finishes the tournament undefeated and will gain 1,500 ranking points, moving her up to No. 5 and knocking Jessica Pegula to No. 6.

Elena Rybakina wins 6-3, 7⁷-6⁰ against Aryna Sabalenka

Her first big title in over 2 years, that was a good performance, Sabalenka will definitely regret the set points at 5-4, but a well deserved moment for Elena after so many tough losses in 2025

💯. Kyrgios is a toxic, abusive misogynist, and Sabalenka is cheerfully laundering his reputation

Clearly she doesn't get it, or doesn't want to get it. She has form here: her previous belittling of the women's game already made her part of the problem before this latest nonsense exacerbated it
I don't think anyone begrudges the "battle of the sexes" per se, even if some don't think it's a great idea. The problem is KYRGIOS. A known abuser of a woman. A well known bully on and off court. That's the problem. If she doesn't get/accept it, then maybe she's part of the problem too.

A Perfect Tjen!

You know what's "Good for the Game"?

Janice Tjen.

Because now, Indonesia, a nation of 283 million people, is getting more invested in tennis than they have been in decades!

Janice Tjen defeats Kimberly Birrell, 6-4, 6-3 to capture her 1st WTA title in Chennai.

There has not been a single tournament this year in men’s tennis that had both Sinner and Alcaraz play a match and was then won by a third person.

That’s nutty, nutty stuff.

Let's be honest - Pegula should have won that in straight sets
