Withholding something to create fear, then giving it back, is a classic abuse pattern. When they see it works, they'll do it again. If they see where you go and what you do when hurt, it'll be used to cut you off from those options next time. Just remember that, and create safety plans now.

An abuser’s main mission is to avoid culpability, most easily by sabotaging any ability you have to hold them accountable. Easiest way to do that is keep you from even recognizing their offenses AS OFFENSES.
it turns out that if you grow up being told that your problems aren't real problems and you're being overly dramatic, later in life you'll end up staying in a lot of fucked up situations because you automatically dismiss all of your own negative feelings
