Excited 2 bring the Massachusetts model of care to AL. MD shortages plague our state, & our HIV/OBAT clinic is often overbooked. But with the nurse care manager model, champion by Colleen Labelle (center), we can extend high-quality addiction care across the state. TY Colleen & Grayken team

@altnih4science.bsky.social I am hearing that ASSIST will not accept budgets with an IDC rate above 15%. Is that true?

FWIW as an NIH funded researcher, I’m going to work on my grant proposals that are meant to help vulnerable ppl, write my papers, meet with colleagues, (ie, do my job). I’m not going to stop…and neither should you
Why should the public care about the freeze on the NIH? Aside from the need for scientific pursuits to make our society better…
-For every dollar we invest in NIH research, there is a $2.5 return.
-Research dollars help fund universities that employ non-academics. (1/)

My wife, y’all! One of <20 attorneys that were allowed in the court room today.
What a day. Filled with so many emotions. To sit in front of those nine justices. To see Chase Strangio argue. To be a part of such a profoundly important moment. It was everything. 🏳️‍⚧️❤️

This. Exactly this. I am beyond worried. #skrmetti
Be suspicious of any reporter, commentator, or outlet who claims Skrmetti is limited just to children. If the Supreme Court goes for Tennessee’s reasoning, it could also impact transgender adults and a lot of other medical care.
Very Smart Reporters are going to act like US v. Skrmetti only implicates gender-affirming care for trans kids. In fact, it could allow sex discrimination in many other kinds of medical care. Yes, like birth control. Me in @tnr.bsky.social on how our rights are intertwined:

You know you are at a momentous time in US history when a solicitor general actually compares gender affirming care to eugenics and lobotomies. My god. #skrmetti

This is worth a read ( and includes a great quote from my wife!). So much hinges on the Skrmetti Supreme Court case, which will have immense consequences for the basic human rights of trans people. www.theguardian.com/world/2024/n...
Revealed: trans rights case at US supreme court features doctors previously discredited by judges
Tennessee relied on doctors rebuked by courts for inexperience and bias to defend its trans healthcare ban
