The biggest change in reproductive rights in Britain in half a century has just passed the Commons.

MPs have voted 379-137 to decriminalise abortion, preventing women from being prosecuted for terminating a pregnancy after 24 weeks.

UCL are going back to all in person exams. There is no other solution to this problem currently available.
It's not the biggest problem education is facing but at some point the preference of parents and students for coursework and fewer exams is going to collide with the fact that AI probably necessitates a big return to in-person exams
Shocked (not).

It isn't possible to design a school system where everyone leaves with the skills needed for the workplace because *they're all going to do different jobs*.

Workplace training needs to be done by employers.
We need our children to leave school ready for life in the real world

To ensure that young people embarking on a career have the skills and mindset employers are looking for, education must be linked more closely to the workplace, writes David Blunkett.

A truly astounding exchange. The Zelensky/Trump meeting descends into an out and out slanging match. Perhaps the most remarkable thing we’ve ever seen recorded in the Oval Office.
Jesus, Trump and JD Vance playing bad cop-bad cop with Zelensky is stomach churning here.

Spot on. Comprehensive pedestrianisation should be far higher up the agenda in our cities than it is. Nearly wherever cars go, cities get worse. Nearly wherever they’re removed, those urban spaces flourish.
Before & After: I don’t think people realize the extent to which parked cars degrade public space.

#REmatters looking forward to teaching Euthanasia in new year as part of religion and life Theme. Especially looking forward to students having great discussion and debate in lessons with it being so pertinent to current affairs…
Can never understand the logic of "slippery slope" arguments when we have a system where the House of Commons decides nearly everything. It's only a slippery slope if in the future the Commons changes its mind on something- which guess what, it can do at any time.
