I really hope that the relative sleep glut of being an attending does not affect my generally formidable power to sleep on command anywhere at any time, especially in this specific call room where I am about to take a cat-nap before my patient transitions and needs active labor support

Every once in a while I tell people from other countries about how the health insurance system works in the US and they are aghast. Yesterday a guy straight up didn’t believe me when I said people can die because of not being able to afford medicine. He was sure I meant in the distant past.

This is just nuts. A person showed up with bromism, a condition that was probably last seen in the early 80s, because a chatbot suggested bromide salt as an alternative to table salt.
