I’ve started to rehearse the question, “Are you selling me something?” when interacting with, basically, everyone and everything. Libraries are one of the great delights of my life for offering an entirely different mode of interaction, not centering profit. Read the whole thread.
We library folk do a good job talking about all the free services we offer, but I don’t see many of us talking about how libraries are one or the only places where you can use services without being advertised to.

I love people's creativity and the various ways they have found to support each other. I've seen several examples of people doing this in Chicago. If you know a local vendor, can you do the same for them? Sell their goods so they won't be vulnerable to ICE?
