The actual article is fine, in spite of the inflammatory headline and the comments.

On intuitive demand vs supply bias.

Privacy zones hiding the start and end of rides sometimes have very funny results.

Not going quite to plan

I have no idea what users even thing "tab" means at this point when discussing UI.
November 13, 2025 at 10:38 PM
I’ll provisionally accept that, but I’ve yet to encounter it I guess. This is about as fatty as I’ve run into.

Yeah, not a fan, but the kid will eat it whenever she can.

Vid not working.
November 11, 2025 at 11:43 AM
yeah, but there isn’t a “no Maccas” zone there (no such zone exists, not my area of expertise but I imagine it would be hard to craft one)

maybe they just need the right building style, the only cool looking Maccas I know of is down the road near me

No bike :(

This looks tantalisingly close to completion.

Concerns about traffic are a frequent reason NIMBYs object to more housing (and I sympathise, I also hate cars!), but they’re simply making the problem worse and making much of it someone else’s problem.
November 9, 2025 at 10:04 PM
Incredible how much we push housing out.

Bonsai getting overtopped by the basil now.
November 8, 2025 at 10:01 AM
Unsure why some people are unable to draw the line between these dots. More housing. More public housing. More private housing.
November 6, 2025 at 12:32 PM
They presumably mean well, maybe they expect everyone to live in public housing idk.
November 6, 2025 at 12:23 PM
sure NPM, but unfortunately "trusted publishing" only works for write access as far as I can tell and I need _read_ access

Impressive GIF work from The Age here

What is radical is heavily restricting development in some of the most desirable central city residential land with heritage overlays and restrictive zoning.
November 5, 2025 at 10:19 PM
And the percentage would climb if you halved the radius.
November 5, 2025 at 1:17 PM
With or without confronting our "heritage" affliction? If without confronting it, how many more could we build (and how much closer would they be)?
November 5, 2025 at 1:15 PM
This is not radical.

gooning, when I encountered the american usage of the term, was so confusing to me because
