My hands are always busy, though the activities are varied—from knitting to reading to video games and more. My cats think they rule the house, but don’t tell them I’ve actually been slowly training them. 😂
“Check carry-on bag for firearms before entering checkpoint” — who forgets they have a gun in their carry-on?!

One thing Newsom should do *right now* is a statewide rent freeze. They did it during lockdown, they can do it again. And yes, statewide, because every landlord within 200 miles of LA is eagerly waiting for fire refugees to move into their area.
What can we expect to come from these fires?

Housing is fucked. Rents will skyrocket. Homelessness will go up. People will leave the area. Unemployment will expand. The film and tv industry is even more screwed. Building materials will run short. Infrastructure repairs will bankrupt cities.

Didn't live up to the hype? It's because countless engineers and IT professionals worked around the clock for several years to update code, get patches in place, and test, test, and test and repeat for literal YEARS

My dad worked insane hours December '99 to ensure everything was patched and ready

People feared the computer glitch would mean "the end of the world as we know it." Thankfully, Y2K didn't live up to the hype after years and billions of dollars were spent on painstaking preparation.
Y2K seems like a joke now, but in 1999 people were really freaking out

I can't remember the last time I had more than a day or so off around the holidays--but I am now off until 2025! Eight days off work (while only having to take 6 PTO days, nice). 🎉 Happy holidays everyone! 🎄🎁🎆

We need to keep talking about how weird it is for people to think they should have a say in reading choices for anyone's kids but their own. You're not in charge of what other people's children eat or wear or when they go to bed. Why on earth would you get to choose what they read?

Had a completely lovely Thanksgiving at my brother’s house. We realized toward the end of dinner that we were being observed (via the sliding glass door).

Teddy is concerned. (There is no reason to be, he’s just a scaredy cat)

I don’t mind watching television, I just prefer shows where I won’t learn anything new and fucked up that just happened
