Sorry to go on about this, but in the midst of so much complaining about students submitting assignments completed by robots, I'm stunned that instructors so often lack self-awareness of their own robotic behaviors.

The students need to snap out of this, but so do YOU, professors. So do you.

My assignments have increasingly turned toward creative, problem-solving prompts asking students to address an issue with novel solutions, and I confirm their authorship by meeting with them one-on-one to assist in developing their ideas. I find this cuts out 90% of the "cheating" in student writing

I know professors and instructors are reluctant to think of it this way, but one of the problems in higher education exposed by ChatGPT and LLM's is how crappy so many of our assignments have been. "Describe the author's main points" being a fine example of AI-slop instruction.
