Author of books seldom read, screenplays never filmed, software rarely used, and bleets like sweet, sweet honey.

If you were following @elliott_downing over on TwitterX, you've found me (or failed to avoid me, as the case may be).
If there is any greater pleasure in life than going to websites that purport to "explain" song lyrics to you and looking up their interpretations of random punk songs, then I mean, sure, I'd probably be better off doing that with my limited time on Earth instead, but C'MON

I am so fucking glad I haven't the faintest idea what this means

So…it's because of this guy? God damn it. I should have guessed. Fuck this guy.

We all know there's only ONE reason a bestselling fantasy game series would replace its popular, well-established male protagonist with a female character. "But she's his daughter!" Suuuure. The woke mind virus is going to totally ruin King's Quest IV: The Perils of Rosella.

The last game I ever played is on the left. As soon as I saw whatever that is on the right, I knew the woke mob had taken over. This industry won't see another penny from me until they start respecting gamers again!

Not to sound churlish, but now that y'all are suddenly feeling introspective, perhaps there's a *second* set of uncomfortable questions you could also be asking yourselves. Never let a crisis go to waste and all that, right? That wasn't what you meant? Oh.

Someone wishes they were writing slightly florid novels and only took this headline gig to pay the bills, and now I think all headlines should be written this way. Give us one gratuitous absolute phrase, eyes twinkling with delight, before you arrive at the dreary point.

Sometimes, someone really nails the phrasing about a thing.

Story of the election right here. High prices/cost of living was THE issue this year.

The original Biden campaign refused to talk about it at all, except to get angry at the question and trot out statistics explaining why everyone was wrong. Brilliant.

Anybody want to tell this slow-learning comic-relief sidekick he's going to wield less power in the next presidential administration than Marco Rubio? Or a random park ranger?

The most perceptive summation I ever read about the music industry's mistakes back during the early MP3 era was that for a period of multiple years, they allowed pirates to provide a better user experience than they did.

This smells very much like history repeating itself.

One of my favorite paragraphs I've read in some time right here.

Since I'm using it as my banner here, I will take the excuse to reproduce this in full. Behold: the bleakest picture I've ever taken.

Okay, now *that's* funny.
