With proceedings in the Lords continuing from next week, I hope that Peers will continue to deliver on the mandate provided by MPs to introduce meaningful choice for dying people who need it and greater protection for all at the end of life.

This case is yet more evidence of what we already know: the cruel status quo denies dying people the choice they want and need in the country they call home, and criminalises families' compassion for the people they love at the end of their lives. It is unfit for purpose.
