Convince me that this is any different from what Reform proposed on Monday. Okay so they’re not going to deport people but this will make it impossible for millions of people to ever become citizens of this country.

Responding to 100+ Labour rebels by removing the whip from them and in turn jeopardising the huge majority you won less than a year ago - all because they don’t want you to take money from disabled people - sounds like a great political strategy for a party that’s supposed to be centre left
Under anything resembling normal times, this level of political self harm would be unimaginable, especially over a policy which does not have public support, is counter to expert opinion, will cause immeasurable harm to individuals, and will undermine the economy. These aren't normal times though.

These reforms would lead to over 400,000 people being worse off by at least £416 a month.
