Having spent 90 minutes today getting 14 6-year-old girls to paint individual sunflower canvases and contributing them to a mural for the place that hosts our Girl Scout troop, I feel like I am as qualified as Schumer to lead the Senate.

Did I intentionally wait until Halloween to cast my vote, so I could get this awesome sticker? Yes, obviously!

Finally, the finished plumeria pendant that I made for my mom. I carved it in wax, and now it's sterling silver. All hail the lost wax process!

I can't confirm that they're all great, but the "fairy godmother in training" that we had certainly was delighted with my daughter and treated her like a princess, as the joy on my daughter's face shows:

I grew up in BR, and the library was such a central part of my childhood. I still have (and wear!) my East Baton Rouge Parish Library t-shirt from when I was a kid. And while there was A LOT of pushback from the community, the "compromise" budget is still hot garbage that cuts library funding.

Today, I got my printed copy of the Oxford Handbook of Punk Rock. To give some perspective, my five-year-old daughter was a newborn when I turned in the first draft. It's been available online for a few years, but still exciting to see in hardback!

Guys, I've found the directions out of the hell we're living in. Just don't look back.

This is the food market at my hotel. When we arrived on Monday night, this area was stocked with chips, ramen, noodle cups, and other stuff. The freezer had a variety of microwave meals. Now there's some ice cream and a lone bag of doritos.

I took a class in wax carving a couple weeks ago, and I'm super excited to share my first project, from midway to finish. Unfortunately, I didn't document the first part of the carving process.

I'm really proud that I've been able to create so many wearable and beautiful pieces of jewelry in the past year.

I got to see the aurora borealis in my backyard tonight, and it was pretty amazing, considering I live in the Bronx.

We were up in Warwick in Orange County on Thursday, and there were still a number of Trump signs, BUT there were an abundance of Harris ones, and also this one:

Did I buy the "Jolene, please don't take my pan" pan because I love cooking with cast iron or because I love Dolly Parton? Why, it's both, of course!

I made this sterling silver flip ring based on an ancient Egyptian ring! It's the trickiest thing I've made in terms of construction from start to finish.
