I agree with Greta Thunberg. We “need to act like our house is on fire. Because it is.”
“If ever there was a year that underscores the costs of climate change, 2021 was it,” Lee said, who is also Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives,BC Office’s senior economist. The estimate was >10 million. And now just 4 years later another atmospheric river in the same place in BC. We will pay!

A solid solution is to take advantage of all the electric options ( and lobby for a greener grid). They can only store so much so if we do not buy it the fossil fuel industry will be reduced.

I wish we would listen!

Maybe it will be an expensive make work project that generates planning, engineering and negotiation jobs while the world installs more solar. We could even build more renewables in Canada. Please! If we all do our part there will be no market for a pipeline.

Could it be explained simply enough so that we can compare two approaches. #1 congestion pricing or #2 dig a tunnel under the 401 (across Toronto) to double the lanes.

Yes. Stop burning.

A subsidy for gas investment
November 19, 2025 at 8:12 PM
In Ontario, Canada we have a gas installation subsidy. The access to natural gas act, 2018 and the natural gas expansion legislation NGEP provides funds to install gas distribution where it is not economical. And new gas distribution is amortized over the next 40 years.

I don’t see Canada. We need a roadmap because utilities and businesses need to know what to plan for and when. We are still installing new gas distribution to new buildings. Why? Because we have targets but not a roadmap showing the transitions and some are still afraid. And we have lobbying!

I have to read my book now. This is too scary.

Making climate friendly choices should not be political. We need to remember our children and grandchildren more frequently during each day. We need to share their wonder and imagine their future. Especially when we choose investments, or make purchase decisions.

Right. I wish we were making choices that were better for our grandchildren.
