Data centres.... in spaaaaaaace

I dunno, I feel like we have enough space junk orbiting the planet
It is not easy to build data centers here on Earth. There is not enough capacity on our energy grid to power everything. That may get worse as people demand more and more AI. So a couple companies, including Google, have now announced that they are exploring building data centers in space.

This is an INSANE story that every editor and journalist should read.
A few months ago @thelocal.to got a promising pitch from a writer with bylines in whole bunch of reputable publications—The Cut, The Guardian, Dwell, Architectural Digest, etc. Then I started investigating. Here's a story about fabulists in journalism's AI slop era. thelocal.to/investigatin...

Starting to think I should run for mayor here. Seems to be a wave of progressives being elected down south.
After much deliberation and a grueling interview process, I’m pleased to announce that I’ve accepted a new job and will not need any financial support from my parents to cover the high costs of childcare going forward. #AmericanDream #ThisIsYourCity

Agreed
I think you should be allowed to bounce a pass off an offensive lineman's helmet and have it be caught by another offensive lineman

If the latest #winnipeg budget has you either stressed or mad (why not both?), be sure to read You'll Pay For This by Michel Durand-Wood!

It's a short read that packs a big punch. Find it at your library or buy a copy!

Air Miles are going back to combined miles, instead of that stupid "cash miles" and "dream miles" thing they did several years ago that only complicated the program.

Smart move.
