I’ve known and worked with @joyannreid.bsky.social for over a decade and it’s been, well, a joy. She’s brilliant and fierce and irreplaceable. One of my favorite nights ever was getting to interview her for this live #WITHPod

From a guy who used to work there: Rachel is a remarkable person and the best TV news talent there is. If she says something is fucked up, it is. Getting rid of Joy, who dared to see through this fascism bullshit years ago and had the gall of occasionally being funny about it, is dumb.
Maddow: I think it is a bad mistake to let Joy Reid walk out the door. It is also unnerving to see that on a network where we've got two nonwhite hosts in primetime, both of our nonwhite hosts in primetime are losing their shows, as is Katie Phang on the weekend. I do not defend it.

Elon—the richest man on Earth—is gutting the world’s largest provider of food aid. He could end world hunger single-handedly and still be the richest man alive. But he won’t.

Instead, he spent 40 million on Super Bowl ads attacking USAID!

Stand with USAID: share this counter-ad…

Do we know what the second-best revenge is? I feel like there should be a backup option or at least a list of best practices.

Mostly, I give people advice they often ignore on how to do things, read stuff and tell people about it, and help people use words.

I have, in the past, made people read stuff and tell me about it and helped them use their brains.

“She smiles less than she did…a few months ago. When her roommates ask her to hang out…, she usually declines. She has taken some steps forward, though. She stopped drinking and cutting her wrists, allowing scar tissue to cover her wounds.

But she’s still grieving what the denial took from her.”
“Though there is no way to know how often coverage gets cut off mid-treatment, ProPublica has found scores of lawsuits over the past decade in which judges have sharply criticized insurance companies for citing a patient’s improvement to deny mental health coverage.”
Her Mental Health Treatment Was Helping. That’s Why Insurance Cut Off Her Coverage.
Providers, patients and even some federal judges say progress-based insurance denials harm patients at key moments of mental health treatment.

Part of ProPublica’s recent mental healthcare series. Ambetter, the company whose “ghost network” failed to provide life-saving care for Ravi Coutinho is the same company whose ghost network I got caught in for a year. Luckily, my health concerns are less immediately life-threatening.
