Back when Eliara was with the Rogues, she went as far as putting on light disguises for whenever she went around Limsa Lominsa in civilian clothes. The outings were rare as it is, since she typically just asked someone else to procure whatever she wishes. Usually head/face coverings, different clothing pieces, the like. It's mainly just to keep herself “hidden” since, at the time, she’d rather be unknown and nonexistant outside of the Rogues. Present day, Eliara is known for her sense of fashion: Always seeming to know what to wear and when it’s best to wear it. People don’t realize that this also extends to her ability to disguise herself. And combining that with her habit of code switching means that she really did end up becoming a chameleon, even if unintentionally. Which then leads into a major factor in why, when she started as an adventurer in Gridania, she really seemed like she simply came out of nowhere to so many people. And any attempts in doing any sort of background search would only lead to smoke. (Unless you’re Thancred, but the man’s built different.)

Bryre's decades-long stay in Thavnair meant that he's acclimated to the spices common to the local cuisine.

That being said, he struggles with Zero's spicy curry, but he still enjoys the flavor enough to try and pull through. One scoop at a time.

was talking to some people about this in-game and it came to my attention that there is a whole generation of xiv players who didn't see the nier rein crossover weapon stories
so i decided to throw them together in an accessible format
nier reincarnation art for vanargand, and its weapon story: The black mage who wove the arts of destruction thinks of the calamity to come in 2,300 years. Will oral traditions change? Will books become ash? So she sends her own memories into the far future. In short, the black mage made a bet and won. 2,300 years later, her memories are revived, and she is surprised to learn the taboo magic she created has been discovered and learned by certain other mages. The mage joins her future adherents to fight monsters who seek to bring about the calamity by summoning the stars. Their only hope is her magic of destruction—the very same magic that already took so many lives. The mages use the arts of destruction to save the world, unbeknown to many. But before vanishing, the great dark mage leaves her pride and joy⁠—her staff—to her disciple. The Warrior of Darkness persevered through adversity and returned darkness to the sky, thus the people named his sword "Shadowbringer."
