No the console age isn't ending. Subsidised hardware is ending

Dedicated gaming machines is going to almost double in price

A lot of people will be priced out rapidly
The console age is ending — even PlayStation's former CEO says so
It's time to embrace our teraflop era

Why is the #SteamMachine for me?

- I want to simplify and make my gaming life more effecient

- I have a high-end PC and Steam Deck and want the same experience and games on the TV

- To play my games I exclusively play anywhere

- The PS5 and Series X have been very expensive dust collectors

My biggest hope for the Steam Machine is that it finally gives devs a solid target to aim for when optimizing their games for PC, so we can finally see some great running AAA games

PC is where it all started for me so I might be a bit of an odd one on here

The console that defined me tho? The Game Boy Advance. That one was pure magic to me

I've seen insane speculation about the #SteamMachine. Here's the real stuff:

- Perf around PS5, sometimes less sometimes more

- Price 'entry level PC', so around $650-850 (if a bit subsidized)

- Strengths: Separate CPU/GPU solution, no Windows

- Weakness: 8GB of VRAM

- Expect 40-60 fps@1440p

Nintendo's output has been impressive, but their three latest releases has been unable to break the 80+ mark on Metacritic

And this in a time where they charge even more for their games. Ouch

They're all good games, don't get me wrong. They're just not *great*

That's really rare lol

I'll do exactly this aswell. I already have a high-end PC and two Steam Decks (so will sell the LCD one)

I might skip out on the Frame though 'cause motion-sickness is real

The 'GabeCube' is a given. And the PS5 and Series X will go
I am all in on Valve.

In time, I plan to convert our entire home's gaming ecosystem to PC, Steam Deck, Steam Machine and Steam Frame.

It will largely depend on the Steam Machines price point; but even then, PC, Deck and Frame would be a thing regardless. 🔥🤌 #Valve

The first #Nintendo published game using Game Key cards

Rest assured there will be more

And they still have the guts to charge a full fat $70 for it, despite cheaping out💩

EA, BioWare.... the best way to celebrate N7 Day would be to unshackle Mass Effect Legendary Edition from the EA App requirement

Just sayin'

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is the game I've given the highest score this year

While it ain't my personal GOTY despite that I want it to win so bad

Games like this are so extremely rare. It's just fuckin' phenomenal

We likely won't see the next Mass Effect for another 5-7 years

AAA publishers are now scrambling to push out their games before Nov 2026. I can almost taste the crunch

The hotly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI has been delayed once again, from May 26 to November 19, 2026.

The purpose is to give the team, "some additional time to finish the game with the high level of polish players expect and deserve." bit.ly/4oCb7yf

I'm quite baffled as to why #TheOuterWorlds2 didn't get a higher avg score from media outlets

Sure every playthrough could be very different meaning reviewers have vastly different experiences

But overall it definitely deserved to be an avg of 90 given how inflated video game scores are today

#Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is my last pre-order for the year

And next year I'm gonna cut back a lot on new day 1 AAA games, to declutter and simplify my gaming life to focus on the experiences that I'm truly excited for and matters most

Only one hard locked so far for 2026 and that is #Exodus
Blast through anything that stands between you and survival in #MetroidPrime4: Beyond on #NintendoSwitch and #NintendoSwitch2, available Dec 4.

I can't stop playing #TheOuterWorlds2. It's so immersive and rich. It looks stunning, the RP mechanics are so much deeper and the world feels so distinct

It truly establishes the franchise as its own thing and brings it into the Pantheon among the other great RPG's
