A blindingly bright bolt of lightning strikes before a west Texas supercell. There is a tornado, mostly obscured by dust, in progress near the end of the road. Pretty sure that was the loudest thunder I had ever heard lol. #photography
A view of the flat, golden plains of west Texas. This photo is taken looking straight down a "road" with power lines running parallel to it. In the distance is a massive swirling supercell thunderstorm of dark gray clouds. Right near the end of the road, a partially-condensed tornado is just barely visible through the dust kicked up by the intense inflow winds of the storm. Just to the left of the road, and much closer to the camera than I would have liked, is a remarkably bright, branching lightning bolt striking the ground - close enough to see the ground all around it glowing.

Gold Dust Day #Gecko (Phelsuma laticauda). Native to Madagascar, but have been introduced to Hawaii. They're diurnal, and known for their curious and bold behavior. (Island of Hawaii)

This is a species of orb-weaver spider known as a Argiope appensa, commonly referred to as a "writing spider". The distinctive zigzag pattern in the web is called a stabilimentum. (Island of Hawaii)
