Fixer of broken things, collector of the unwanted. Weird cars, obsolete electronics, random brain droppings. He/Him
apparently I never took pics of the grilles but these were the speakers. There was a cross brace between the woofer and midrange but basically just a rectangle out of 1x1 pine with some cheap grey cloth stapled to it.

Neat how the front panel is mirrored on the two models in the lineup. Ds225 on the left, ds265 on the right. Size difference is pretty obvious. And a pair of MO100A behind with some laserdisc in the middle

Knew i couldn't leave it alone. Did some voltage checks and it went real funny when I touched something. This blob of solder is shorting out the bias supply if the terminal strip is touched at all.

I bought something i don't have to work on, and I'm not sure how to feel about it. Behold, the mighty Bogen DS265

Looks like the tug is winning the race

Not upset with this. Power supply rebuild not my work, but its ok. New caps and resistors where needed. Its super clean on my shop speakers, which means its probably awesome in a better setup.

At least this one means I'm done with this. Good documentation practice training for probably the 17th time. Until next year way too excited people.

This training does not warrant this much excitement

Wish this movement wasn't jammed up, it would make a cool display

Ended up with a family of nixie tubes including two of the most adorable ones I've ever seen
November 9, 2025 at 12:04 AM
Someone has been here before. I'd have done something different with the caps glued into the clip but its not awful. The busted tube sucks but its modern production and not anything special

no, looked very much like the GMC, all aluminum, twin rear axles, etc. Per this site they claim that Revcon actually had the idea first and GM copied it but who knows.

Walked by the air compressor and saw oil under it. Pressure gauge failed and started vomiting an oil and air mixture. Ordering 2 because the other one is just as old.

Fort Delaware on Pea Patch Island and Artificial Island generating station. There used to be another fort on the other side of Pea Patch to control the river up to Philly. Obsolete when complete tho, ships had guns with more range than the land battery.

Car show today, just suck at pics but here are a few of the less common things. Two different 300G.

These modern Navy ships look like they have dunce caps on them. USS Arlington heading downriver.

Another combo people will hate. A dusty Dynaco PAS and a Phase Linear Pro700.
October 12, 2025 at 8:30 PM
Because I know people will hate the mix, a cheap Bluetooth module that works as a USB DAC, fancy 80s solid state preamp, and a heavily modified tube amp from 1962.
