Lol, just got added to an anti anti-ai list. Proud to be there. AI is not inevitable and we don't have to participate.

I am so very tired of drowning. We are screaming into a void and I don't know what to do anymore. If you see this, we're still under water.

I'm tired and the news sucks and my trans/queer family could still use some help if you have help to spare.

At the risk of doxxing myself on the internet, we need help. I don't know if anyone will see this but if you do, we're still trying to survive.

Think it's time to acknowledge this was a pipe dream. The funds are just never going to be here because survival in these times costs too much. I'll probably keep the handle for now but the I'll be losing the website url soon because I simply can't afford the renewal.

Alright, I'm back. I couldn't hack it in the corporate book world (turns out the CEO is anti-union, who could have guessed) so now we are free to get back to work on Electric Sheep. Website soft launch soon.

Okay, I have to start somewhere.

If you write queer and/or trans genre fiction, will you please link me your work? The first step to creating the bookstore and community space I want is supporting the authors it's meant to represent. 💙📚

Going in to 2025, its important that you *actually own* the queer and trans literature you consume. That's why for ebooks you should always look for DRM-free storefronts like Itch, or an author/publisher's website, where you can buy a downloadable .epub you can read anywhere, and is yours forever
BTW:

When you make purchases on Itch, the files are yours to keep forever. You aren't "licensing" it; Amazon can't delete it from your library.

YOU are part of preserving transfeminine literature, YOU are part of the movement preventing digital book burnings. YOU are fighting censorship & erasure
For absolutely no reason at all, here are some awesome transfeminine lit books you can get DRM-free on Itch. Many of these books were nominations for the Transfeminine Review Awards or were written by authors who had other books nominated!

On that note:

Trans authors (I mean authors who are trans, NOT cis people who write about trans people), drop your book links here and I'll try to repost as many as I can throughout the day.

Cis people: Repost trans authors' book links.

Cis people who want to complain about being excluded: gtfo
Being a trans author is fucking weird right now. Hell is actively unfolding all around us but I still need to be like, "hey, everyone, wanna buy my silly little queer book? It won't make anything better, but it's kinda fun?"

So....hey, everyone, wanna buy my silly little queer book?
Looking for a supernatural queer read?

Indie bookselling tends to be romanticized as ‘cause work’ which is used to argue that booksellers should tolerate grossly low pay because it’s just so cool and fun to sell books! To be this wealthy and not invest in the workers who make that possible is actually not cool or fun.
The Strand owner Nancy Bass-Wyden is reportedly worth more than $50 million and received $2.7 million in COVID loans. The Strand union said they are asking for $.50 raises.

Small update and hello to the (300ish 🫠) new followers. Because of the much needed job that I just took, the prospective bookstore side of this account is going to have to pause for a bit. Maybe only for the holidays, we'll see. I will, however, forever and always be here championing trans authors.

There are gonna be disabled folks who can't contribute anything to The Cause. They have no money, no energy, no physical ability, no time. They will need to receive and will never be able to give back. You gotta save them, too. Especially them.
Please don't leave disabled people behind in your revolution. Please do not see us as sacrifices for the greater good, or dead weight. Please see our lives as worth saving, too.

If you're looking for a queer book about killing tyrants to show up at your house in 2025, we will take your angry $25 and make it angrier.

(We can also turn an angry $2500 into a ton of angry writing, including a zine of angry gay art.)

My focus here is genre fiction (SFF/horror/romance) from trans authors, but I will repost and celebrate all trans authors wherever they are publishing. This book looks stunning, and I can't wait to read it.
I wanted to make When the Earth Was Green a beautiful book. Available to pre-order as hardcover, ebook, and audiobook versions, out Feb. 25th! 🌱

Seems like there may have been some kind of "share these queer/trans bookish accounts in solidarity" post.

Hi, sorry you found me in this moment. Eventually, there will be something substantial here, but at the moment we're just trying to keep our heads above water.
If you feel like you want to help keep a queer/trans family safe, donations to my ko-fi so that my wife and I can be legally married and my wife can change her name and gender markers would not go to waste. We need about $3,400 to attain housing but I'm not expecting to raise that.

This. This. This.
Also, watch your beloved local bookstore's queer books section over the next few months. See if it doesn't become less and less visible.

Since I'm seeing "your local businesses need you more than ever!" posts.

Hahahaha no. Your local *people* need you more than ever. Please stop conflating the two. Support specific local businesses if they are actually doing tangible things for the community, but stop assigning virtue to "local."
"Boycott big corporations, but support your local small businesses!"

Look, I don't know how it is everywhere, but in my city local small businesses have been waging a war on the unhoused for decades, leading to closed shelters and cruel city policies. Mom and Pop can be evil, too.

My wife asked me yesterday, what gives me hope in the system and I had to tell her that I don't have hope in the system. What I have hope in is people because people survive. They live in joy and defiance of the systems that would break them. Things are bleak, but *people* still matter.

Download a copy, share it with friends, then read it together.
