🪦 RIP. I reimaged my machine twice before finally realizing, and it was a laptop with soldered-down RAM too 🫠

At least the mystery is solved!

Long shot, but when I experienced something similar, it ended up being a corrupted DDR RAM stick that didn't show up until 4 GB in. Databases and file systems with checksums would detect it, apps wouldn't, and the kernel was in lower memory only and fine. memtest86+ is what finally showed it to me.

Almost forgot about these which would have been a huge oversight. Baby Tower is an all-timer.

Drift across and pogo the patchy balloons to ascend back up. If the balloons aren't up, there should be a lever nearby on the lower right to fix that.

It's very reasonable to worry about it when traveling through the border. The EFF has a thorough guide for risk assessment and what you can prepare for, as well as a pocket guide for what to do while you're crossing: www.eff.org/wp/digital-p...

There's that famous tweet about how a billionaire's life is just a series of their own preferences, and how the cognitive impairment of that must be like getting repeatedly kicked in the head by a horse. ChatGPT is kind of a way of experiencing a little trickle of that, with predictable effects.

Shortcut Space is another way of physically putting star systems much much closer together, so no causality violations arise. Instead you have problems with a bunch of stars being really close to each other - Shortcut Space needs some magic way to not have them all collide from gravitational pull

Got it, I don't think I've come across an antenna circuit picking up signals outside the FPGA unfortunately. Certainly sounds plausible though

You might be remembering a tone discriminator circuit that was made with a genetic algorithm? It uses coupling between FPGA resources that a normal design wouldn't be able to use. The paper is "An evolved circuit, intrinsic in silicon, entwined with physics." citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/document?rep...
