Today I joined my colleagues in the Committee on Aging and Independence to tour Laurel Ridge Rehabilitation Center and the need to de-densify nursing homes, especially in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic.

VOTE YES on 3 to divest Somerville tax dollars out of companies complicit in the ongoing occupation, apartheid, and genocide in Palestine.

This includes divesting from surveillance technology and weapons manufacturers such as Lockheed Martin.

Marianne has been at the forefront of fighting for equity and justice in Somerville for decades. It's no surprise to anyone that she not only earned the clear and broad endorsement of the labor movement, she's also been endorsed by nearly every Somerville elected who has made municipal endorsements.

Did you know that paras in Somerville were only getting paid $20,000 / year until 2020? Paras (or Education Support Professionals, ESPs) work w students with disabilities & special needs. Their work is vital to ensuring equity in our schools and yet they are often severely underpaid for their labor.

Yesterday, Somerville came together to refuse silence. We stood in solidarity with our immigrant neighbors and against the devastation of ICE abductions. The pain and outrage in our community are real, but so is our power when we stand together.
