I remember learning about his lynching in school. They had the photos of him in his casket. I'll never understand why they did it. How can one's skin color spark such hatred and violence?

I once went down a rabbit hole of reaserching WWI plastic surgery. The work done by those surgeons was amazing. However, it's sad that early on, some lives were lost due to the location and size of the grafts taken to perform the reconstructions
