I can't point to an example of this off-hand, but she's also someone who has the capacity to modify her problematic/bigoted position when she's presented with new information.

Obviously she's ideological, like anyone else, but - to piggyback on you - it rarely seems like she posts with that in mind

- white dudes are taking up enough space already, someone else can have it
- I try to avoid "everyone else is doing the [bad/rude] thing, so I can do it too" brain. I'm so far from perfect, but I try to be an example of a less-selfish person with the hope that it sticks for someone else

Oh I meant at home specifically. When I'm out and about I usually only use one ear, less because I'm worried about my personal safety and more because I try to remain conscious of how I'm relating to everyone around me

I drive with the windows down despite the weather, with nothing on the radio, because I'm afraid I won't hear someone's whistle. I constantly catch myself craning my neck forward, unconsciously, looking for their vehicles.

That was a great piece. It made me weep and I hope it encourages someone who hasn't yet checked in to pick up a whistle or join a community alert chat or take some step to get these fuckers out of our city.

I rarely listen to music with both headphones in anymore because I'm terrified of what signals I'll miss if I do. Can't tell you how many times I've ran out of my home because car horns or kids screaming or squeaks or screeches cross some occult intensity and creates new, dire, meanings.

I basically think everything they've put out is pretty great though. One of the most consistently exciting bands around. I've been listening for almost 20 years and nothing has ever disappointed me. Monolith just came out when I was listening to less metal.

That and Anthropocene Extinction are probably the two I've listened to the least over the years, but I'm doing a re-listen through their discography (I forgot how good those goregrind albums are) and I'm going to give them both another swing.
