102 years ago today, Frederick Banting and Charles Best injected a 14 year old boy dying of diabetic ketoacidosis with pancreatic extract from a dog. Within 24 hours, his blood sugar was almost normal.

Six years ago this month, my son became Type I diabetic. He is alive today thanks to them.

The LA Fire Dept’s budget was cut by ~$17.6M (~2% of fiscal budget) months before this horrific wildfire. ( @khou.com ) Mayor Bass also tried to ban masks despite high levels of respiratory illness + poor air quality from pollution & wildfire smoke in LA. #StopMaskBans
