A Vatican study commission has determined that women should not be ordained as deacons.
The report left open the possibility of further study but proposed instead the creation of new lay ministries for women outside the ordained diaconate, suggesting the issue for now is closed.

Could I just a huge thanks and pay tribute to the wonderful work of @richieconroy.bsky.social and Mark Hodkinson who wrote the script for the Leonard and Hungry Paul series. Aside from it being a sensitive adaptation also they brought so many brilliant ideas of their own to it. Am hugely grateful.
