Anyone know if there's work in the CA legislature on providing direct funds for the 2050 CA State Rail Plan? Or is it just expected to get funding through Caltrans?

The Kings are the worst offense and second worst defense with the 5th oldest roster and the 2nd highest average age by minutes.

We're old and bad and play our old-bad players a lot.

Blow it up.

Demotion on the old Sacramento Bee headquarters as viewed by the Gold Line.

They are turning the land into housing units.

(Don't mind the two arguing over wide receivers lol)

This is slightly longer than a light rail line from Dixon to Auburn. Crazy.

Watching the new Lucid Stew video on CAHSR and saw this comment.

I really like this idea, but don't know what obstacles there would be outside political will/funding.

Seems like you would probably still need to build to Gilroy from the Central Valley to get to SF tho.

The Sacramento skyline deserves another skyscraper or two.

Pretty big apartment complex looks like it's nearly completed at Broadway and 16th in Sac.

Broadway is along the bus route (51) that is planned to become SacRT's first BRT line.

Deep, long sigh...

Compare this to the CA State Rail Plan.

Sometimes I fantasize about this metro map of Sacramento somebody made:

I'm sure there's a good reason why not, but it's unfortunate that the Gold Line terminates at Sac Valley Station and doesn't push just a little bit farther and drop off directly in Old Sac.

Seems like a missed opportunity, especially right outside the Railroad Museum.

Looks like the uplifted dirt has been filled in here. Not sure what the next steps are, but will be cool when this area of the Railyards is concretely connected to the river!

Uhhhh this part sounds suspiciously similar to the law just used to stop the Railyards project...

Seems like Ian Choudri, CAHSR CEO, is banking on the $1 billion p/year Newsom guaranteed in budget as less of a funding mechanism in and of itself, and more of a backstop to then get private investment to speed up the project.

I hope it works.

Last week, Sacramento's City Council unanimously voted to proceed on the Railyards EIFD development, including a new Sacramento Republic Stadium.

Here are a few presentations on the Railyards that were shown to council about the project.

There was a lot of good stuff regarding the unanimous Railyards development vote yesterday at Sacramento City Council, but the most impactful speech imo was from Wilton Rancheria Chairman, Jesus Tarango.

Thought it was worth a share (1/2):

Still no housing construction here (besides the completed "The AJ").

They seem to be using a portion of the land here as a staging area for the 7th and Railyards light rail station, but Street is completed and open to traffic.

Not a great photos, admittedly,

(I'm not a photographer and was trying out a fancy camera)

BUT construction is on-going at the full site for Kaiser's Hospital in the Railyards.

The back, wooden retaining wall seems to be completed for each section of this area.
