Thousands of books have been targeted for removal from school and public libraries.

In fact, we've been tracking thousands of book bans here.

Yet, the U.S. Dept of Education released a statement calling book bans a hoax!

Book bans have not been a Biden-era hoax, and we have the receipts to prove it.

These are very good suggestions, but a few key ones are missing: attend library board mtgs and speak in favor (many are on zoom), donate $, and vote for measures and bonds to increase funding. Patrons have real power. Don't let a handful of bigots destroy your library.
One thing before tomorrow:

Use your local libraries.

Get your card.

Borrow books, manga, films, audios, ebooks.

Recommend titles for purchase (usually online).

Attend promoted activities.

Fill out those "How are we doing?" questionnaires.

Tell your kids that libraries are good.

They are.

This rather sucks: apparently the company behind Libby/Overdrive (which is the dominant way to access ebooks etc. through your local library) is now in the hands of the vulture capitalists who took down Toys R’Us.

And signs of enshittification are already showing.
