@shenk0128.bsky.social's recent work exemplifies this beautifully. Starting from atomic structures, he and Doxsey used smFRET to determine the relative populations of different states present in dynamic equilibrium under different conditions to unpick the detailed mechanism of their system. 🧵 3/4
