It’s so cool to see early examples of superstitions and old wives’ tales that still get passed down. See in particular “Of the ominous appearing of owles and ravens,” “Of the falling of salt,” and “Of the cheeks burning, or ear tingling.”

It took me forever, but I finally finished this manuscript-inspired knitted cowl and while it’s not perfect it was an excellent Learning Experience.

Absolutely nothing beats the absolute rush of unpacking the university library book you feared you accidentally sold to half-price books.

Obviously the lesson I took away from this is do not get rid of the books, ever, for any reason; in fact, keep all of the books, forever.

I commissioned an illuminated version of a saying I came up with during my quals reading/writing group with @ehxlibris.bsky.social, and the result came today which I think many of you will appreciate.
The artist can be found here: www.etsy.com/shop/WitchsG... (their other pieces are great too!)

There was another woman in sweatpants at Half Price Books on a Saturday night and we studiously avoided eye contact and I feel like we would be friends if we weren’t both the kind of people who go to Half Price Books in sweatpants on a Saturday night.
