I wonder if these 2 things and the trends they reflect are correlated...

I'm so saddened by what has become of my beloved #Minneapolis. I recall growing-up in a place of peace, inclusion, and love for everyone. It appears those days are long-gone.

I hope my friends still there continue to fight to return to that time of community.

Will #AI and more particularly, the nefarious use of it lead to a significant decline in advertising more broadly?

If we can't trust ads to be authentic, will they lose their effect? Will that lead to a decline in ad-spending?

What will become of the Superbowl? 😁

Was at a Canadian grocery store, 1 of the country's largest last night. # of people openly looking for / discussing buying produce from countries not US was incredible. There were lots of options from other countries; more than I recall.

This can't be good for our US economy.

This ought to be interesting to watch play out. Are shareholders really in charge?

Having faced similar conflagration at our British Columbia home 2 years ago, my heart aches for my friends and colleagues in the LA area.

We're seeing more frequent and larger fires as a result of climate change; I don't think that's debatable (the cause of the change is a separate discussion). 💔

Hoping all my colleagues and friends in the LA area are safe. Look out for one another.

What a day in North America... a new President ratified, and a Prime Minister resigns.

What's next?

With all the discussion & dismay expressed about private #health #insurance in wake of this week's tragedy, I'm surprised there's not more mention of the #ACA + #medicaid expansion opportunities.

Also wonder if #HR /benefits managers are feeling pressure to react?

Hmmm?!?!?

Wasn't yesterday's tragic murder of Brian Thompson foretold > 20 years ago in "John Q?"

Will we see more of this as private insurers seek balancing demands of shareholders (profits) vs needs of members (care)?

Irony: John Q has origins in Canada.

I'm a bit surprised that the shooting of UnitedHealthcare's CEO - largest health insurer in US - is not dominating the news. With > 50 million members, and 250k employers as clients, it seems like it might be more directly important to many of us than anything.

Is it a surprise that #healthcare seems "broken" when it consists of 3 stakeholders (patient, provider, payer), yet controlled by only 2 of them? = bad system design. And to be clear, this is universal around the world. "Leaders" in reform are addressing this more than just needs of 1 stakeholder.

Listening to discussions @ #tariffs & how they will 📈 prices for consumers. Isn't that the point; theory => raising prices on imports => consumers will turn to locally sourced products => spurring jobs at home?

My Q is how quickly? Takes time to tool-up and staff.

Voters have short-time horizons.
