.@davidebybc.bsky.social the decision to build the ferries in China troubles me. Not the hypocrisy of a democracy buying totalitarian economy. But the hypocrisy of telling BCians to absorb the additional cost of buying Canadian and then doing the opposite, and not building a larger diverse economy.

19thC history will have little value in 2100 when QC will compromise just 12% of Canada’s population. ON, BC, AB will all be larger. QC should give serious thought whether it can accept a reduced role in an allophone Canada or separate. I would be sorry to see them go. But BC is my priority.
