Each year since 2013, the Newtown Action Alliance Foundation (NAAF), the charitable arm of the Newtown Action Alliance (NAA), and numerous partners in the gun violence prevention community have sponsored the National Vigil for All Victims of Gun Violence on or near the anniversary of the Sandy Hook shooting tragedy. These multidenominational events, held in Washington, D.C., at the National Cathedral and St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, bring together survivors of gun violence, victims’ family members, concerned citizens, faith leaders, lawmakers, leaders of gun violence prevention organizations, and activists from across the nation. The 13th Annual National Vigil for All Victims of Gun Violence will be held in person on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 from 7-9:30pm ET at St Marks Episcopal Church on Capitol Hill, Washington, D.C. The national vigil service in D.C. will anchor the #FreedomToLive Nationwide Vigils/Events to #EndGunViolence Vigils/Events to #EndGunViolence in communities across the nation. We encourage all to host a local event - of any size or type. December 14, 2025 is the 13-year mark of the Sandy Hook tragedy. By this December, 1.3 million Americans will be killed or injured by guns since the Sandy Hook shooting tragedy. The victims, survivors and the families impacted by gun violence are often forgotten.
