Ishgard's Least Wanted
@eevswah.bsky.social
Roleplayer, software developer, and generally obnoxious, pedantic autistic person who likes screaming pointlessly into the void through TCP/IP.
Cutie!

The saying "The brightest light casts the longest shadow" popped in my head the moment I saw this.

The quiet whisper of the stars align
When sky from dawn to dusk does turn anew
Are their silent secrets too divine
For mortal minds too narrow for the truth?

The He.

Nudity just isn't something inherently sexual to him. He's accustomed to taking baths with others around. It's gotten him in trouble in his FC's bathhouse where to him people get "weird about bathing."

It's almost like how we in America sometimes default to calling all Black people "African-American" when some people of African descent aren't Black and some Black people aren't from America.

Which is why when you randomize character names they're all centric to that original idea. You won't get an Indian name if you randomize a Xaela character; you'll only get Mongolian inspired ones.

It's the same with the Xaela. Xaela is a culture from the Steppe. If your dark horned Au Ra came from, say, Thavnair, they are not Xaela.

I think when the writers were adding in "subraces" they didn't really think about expanding into the world.

And it's always the races with more animal traits. No one ever says "my hyur acts like this because they're a hyur."

This is part of why beyond superficial things like physiology it always weirds me out when people are like "my character is like this because they're a miqo'te/au ra/viera/whatever" because...no. Races in this game are largely physical species differences and have no innate behavioral traits.
November 14, 2025 at 2:55 PM
You have Miqo'te who remain in their tribes and Miqo'te who have never seen a tribe before and they are both equally Miqo'te. It's a nice departure from most fantasy media where each fantasy race is completely secluded and its own entire cultural monolith.

Same guy banned someone for participating in their story for their "dragoon timeline being wrong" but a literal Xaela death priestess rubbing elbows with the aristocracy wasn't considered a heretic

Funny thing is that the same Ishgardian "lore purists" will completely ignore any lore that doesn't fit their Bridgerton/Game of Thrones crossover RP.

Shoutout to the time I got told by a prominent member of the Ishgard RP community that there is no class warfare in Ishgard lmao.

T'khet I think would be good at it (he's also been in therapy and it worked out pretty well) if only because he doesn't really need it that much. He's generally well adjusted save for a few scars.

Onghul just wouldn't say anything. He'd be very polite and cordial and stick to small talk because that's the script that he follows in every conversation with a stranger ever.
