I should have known it was @florgoth.bsky.social who recommended this one- a great account for discovering good music (and a friendly person!).
Done!
I feel like this is a step up over the last album!
There is always a deep longing for connection, companionship and love in this, that makes all of @vanessafunke.bsky.social's pieces deeply relatable.
And on top of that, she always makes everything sound so good!

Highly, highly recommended!

Time to start my musical journey for the day and there are few things better to do it with, then with a new album by @vanessafunke.bsky.social! 😁
The last one I heard from her The Occasion project was pretty nice, so I have high expectations.

Going in!

Country and jazz have been having a conversation with each other from the beginning. Charlie Parker loved Hank Williams. Every time Willie Cantu went to play up in New York with Buck Owens, he’d go to the Village Vanguard. The relationship between these two art forms has always been there."

Now listening to a new album from Nightmares On Wax, out of Leeds, UK. This sounds like an old mixtape you’d buy on the street and then obsess over for weeks. It’s spaced-out electronic soul and hip hop from a variety of collaborators.

Bluesky music help needed!

I’m doing something wrong but I’m trying to find a sample of a UK home phone ringing, preferably from the 70’s-early 80’s era before it gets synthesised & more digital sounding.

I can find recent versions and US but not the‘classic’ UK “rinnng - rinnng” ones. Any ideas?

As an idea to make untidyradio.com more community-based I am going to trial an idea for Bluesky users to submit song suggestions.

The DIY and Independent music submitted still takes priority. I see this as a way of making the station a vehicle for music discovery.
