Yes, but again, I will simply note that - as we've now seen with 🇮🇷, 🇪🇺, 🇨🇦, 🇯🇵, etc. etc. - the thing folks need to spend a lot more time pondering, instead of obsessing about the end of 🇺🇸 power/hegemony, is that 🇺🇸 power/hegemony is going to persist in a much uglier, unilateralist, & selfish form.

Venezuela is a case study in how letting the leader of a failed coup evade serious punishment and go on to participate in electoral politics can lead to the destruction of liberal democracy and the establishment of an illegitimate authoritarian regime. Good thing that could never happen here.

He's a power-abusing quisling but Mike Johnson is not Dictator of the House. He does not have absolute power over the floor. He can not forbid the House from voting on something the House wants to do, or in many cases if any individual member wants a vote. The minority is not procedurally powerless.
