Looking forward to giving a talk at Thursday's Good Game Dev Club on narrative design for non-story games. There will be Venn diagrams and audience participation and I promise I won't rant about punctuation for more than about 2 minutes.

Occlude is out! It's been a blast working on this game. Not only is it my first credit as a composer, but it's also been amazing watching this ingenious game come together to such a high degree of polish in such a short time. Incredible craft.

I was well pleased with myself solving the very last ritual on the playtest build. But ever since then, there's a door in my house that wasn't here before? And I'm afraid to open it? Is that normal?

Ever wondered how we make our sound effects in Occlude? Well the superb @edsibley.bsky.social built this... monstrous thing. It's his very own Foley box, and all the noises in Occlude were spawned from it.

Shooting film is pretty inconsistent sometimes, but analogue cameras seem to really like @edsibley.bsky.social for some reason. Pretty much every time I point a Pentax at this man, it comes out great.

Nidhogg 1 is a perfectly-realised game. Just a perfect marriage of mechanics and visuals and audio. Like it stepped fully-formed out of a bleeding wound in the side of some pixel-art Greek god.
