Trying to let my body have its happiest, most productive life. Standing up to help others be allowed the same.
It snowed a fair bit last night and right through the night here is Speyside and we are now playing the "will the bus turn up" game with child in last year of high school. Also playing the "if the bus turns up will child get back home" game which failed one of the days last year. ❄️🤔🫣

Clove and lemon syrup I fused / poached pumpkin pieces - both in their syrup, one drizzled with tahini.

A little bit of delight

I can see the UK falling down the same fascist shit hole that America has.

Farage: We’re going to round up anyone that we think isn’t ethnically pure and put them into camps.

UK voters: He doesn’t really mean that and at least he’s not Starmer.

Today has been taken up with processing ONE pumpkin - and a small one at that. Very dense flesh as it's an eating pumpkin.

Time consuming, energy consuming, but: I now have a gorgeous black bean and pumpkin stew, roasted seeds, chunks that are poaching in a clove & lemon syrup, and purée for later

I adore the organic simplicity of Zimbabwean sculpture. These, by Elton Chijiri, epitomise what I've seen that I love in this type of sculpture. It's as though the stone has been heard and is having a chance to talk

My point?

If you have something beautiful to make, or say, or do, you must do it.

There will never be a time that feels right.

There will never be an easy time, or a time when you have enough or know enough.

There is only a time when the world needs your beauty, and that is - always - now.

As I approach the age my grandmother was when I was born, I can't help thinking:

Everyone feels the threat of lost time, that sentiment captured by the phrase "Carpe diem", "seize the day".

What changes with age is the reason we feel that way.

Flummoxed by a pumpkin and in need of someone with strength or finesse to help me get this knife OUT of it so I can stab it again 😂

These Labour MPs have shredded any pretence of principle

Posturing in opposition one minute, rolling over the next, more interested in preserving their own power than defending ordinary people - including refugees

For a party that’s abandoned its soul there is no redemption

I got this three years ago and I think I've used it twice, so this makes three. Pistachio, walnut, seasalt and dark chocolate.

Making less-bad treats to be had One At A Time for a dessert.

Wow labour really think they're doing the right thing?
Be more like Zack
Cruel. Callous. Cowardly.

The public are seeing this Labour government for exactly who they are.

We all have a responsibility to make them pay at the ballot box.

Reject the hate. Reject them.

This is not who we are. Let's make hope normal again.
