Much of the food from our distribution comes from the Chicagoland Food Sovereignty Coalition. CFSC is a coalition of autonomous #mutualaid groups working to reimagine a resilient, sustainable, and equitable local food system based on food sovereignty.

We have implemented a random number system for the distribution line, which will be more equitable and reduce the need for neighbors to arrive early to the church. Numbers will be distributed at noon.

We do not, nor have we ever, allowed elected officials, politicians, or police into our organizing conversations or meetings, and we do not invite them to our weekly food distribution or to any other events that we organize or sponsor.

We reject any expressions of gratitude from politicians for our work, and understand such statements as tacit admission of their (and their parties'!) own failures.

We will never partner with or endorse any candidates. We do not compromise our values for political access, power, or influence.

Mutual aid means building community to care for each other when government leaders fail to, and doing so in the shared understanding that we live in a failed political system.
