After years of introspection on and off, I’ve concluded that I’m poor interpersonal relationships. I form lasting relationships with perhaps 1:1000 people I know. It’s not that I don’t like people. I simply lack the necessary skills. I do wish I had reached this conclusion earlier in life.

Perhaps time for a constitutional convention. That may be the only way to fix the Supreme Court and eliminate corporate and SIG money from elections. I’m not American, so this is merely a suggestion. I used to worry about the outcome but it can’t be much worse than the current state of affairs.

I can appreciate nice people. But nice is the veneer; I prefer the depth and strength and genuineness of kindness, maybe especially when it’s not as shiny or pristine as niceness. Nice asks how you’re doing; kind means it, and lingers and supports and fights when things are messy. Choose kindness.
