It's official. They're giving big restaurant chains a massive tax cut, costing nearly €700m in the #VAT cut to hospitality.

For that kind of money you could:

Fantastic initiative by H&CC. 👏👏

The tricolour was not a well-known flag in 1916. It represents a republic of different identities, traditions, languages and religions.

The promise of a republic "oblivious of the differences carefully fostered ..., which have divided a minority from the majority".

More devastating acts of violence from the extremist Israeli government.

‣ Approved a new settlement in the West Bank.
‣ Began the ground invasion of Gaza City, home to over 1 million Palestinians.

This is genocide.

When will the EU take action?

End the genocide.

Walk anywhere in Amsterdam and you’ll sense a calm coherence: bricks, curbs, fixtures, benches, bollards and drains that look related. This isn’t accidental. It’s a product of the Puccini Method, the city’s standards—part design language, part technical playbook—for shaping every street and square.🧵

An open street isn’t just a place without cars, it’s a place with people. Music, kids playing, neighbors meeting. Streets can be more than corridors for traffic; they can be the heart of a community.

Lighting this bonfire a day early to protect a grotesque display of dummies in a boat doesn’t just shame our community - it exposes the real dummies behind it. There’s nothing cultural about racism, intimidation, or mocking those fleeing war and persecution.

We delivered free public transport for under-9s in Budget 2025.

Now we’re asking the new Minister of State: when will the Government roll it out?

We'll keep pushing for a timely rollout - to cut congestion, support families, and encourage public transport use from an early age.

Like many global cities, Strasbourg ran streetcars for nearly a century until they and their right-of-ways were ripped out to make way for the automobile. And like many of those cities, it has started reclaiming space for a second generation of trams, and its streets look and feel the better for it.

Our streets have an enormous impact on our lives: How are they designed and for whom? Cars or people?

Prioritizing people over cars increases the autonomy of children; improves sociability among citizens; and creates more gender, age, and ability-equitable places.

Very common question. Think of it this way: the Irish electoral system not only allows you to support the candidate(s) you like, but also to punish the ones you hate.

If you are genuinely passive about a batch of candidates, it’s ok to leave their boxes blank - but if you can rank them, you should!
Are you best to vote down the full ballot? Say for Donegal, I only plan on going 1-5 since we have 5 seats.
