My youngest son was just named to Audible's top ten list for F&SF 2025 :-)

This is a super fun book, and Barrie Kreinik did an incredible job with the narration. If you haven't yet, you really ought to give it a listen.

ICYMI: I wrote a review for Mickey7 by @edashtonwriting.bsky.social.
With a fast-moving story and socially conscious themes, it's a fun, meaningful book, and it's easy to see why Bong Joon-Ho chose to adapt it. 📚💙

Just watched "The Long Walk." They stuck to the book pretty closely for the first 90% and then changed up the ending, which is probably the optimal approach for most Stephen King books IMO. Highly recommended.

For the first time ever, I'm trying to work on two different books at the same time. Not sure how this is gonna work out, but I will say that it's interesting to have two different sets of characters chasing each other around in my head.

Hey everyone, can I ask a quick favor?

Some bureaucrats want me to make a "business plan" with plausible "evidence" that I have fans who may someday actually buy one of my "books".

Can you help me prove I have an audience by subscribing (for free!) to this nonsense?

Just finished my last panel at #NOD2025 in Brasov, Romania. If any of my author friends out there have an opportunity to attend this meeting next year, you really ought to jump at it. This is a beautiful country and a well-run meeting, and I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to participate.

Dying of the Light is one of my all-time favorite reads.
George R. R. Martin was born on this day in 1948. Before he fell into obscurity and was never heard from again, he wrote some science fiction, and I covered Dying of the Light (1977) Tuf Voyaging (1986) here.

A look at the only two full-length works in the Thousand Worlds science fiction setting by the author of A Game of Thrones.

I’ve compiled a headache-inducing pile of nice blurbs and would be so grateful if anyone who enjoyed my weird non-human book could reshare.

Thank you!

There are noises coming from my woods right now which are alarmingly similar to those of King Arthur and his men constructing their wooden rabbit outside the French castle in Holy Grail. I may need to fetch the cow.
