Vamola kicked off this event, begging the question: Is this the longest arc so far? I’m too lazy to go back and count, but it feels comparable to Jiji’s arc. Poor Kinta (has anyone ever said that before?) didn’t get much time before jumping to the next character.

Review: The Woman in Suite 11 by Ruth Ware

I’ve got to be honest with you here: I did not have this sequel on my bingo card. Maybe I should have, given how popular The Woman in Cabin 10 was. The Woman in Suite 11 picks up a few years later, but the two primary characters are very much the same.

Review: Love Everlasting Vol. 1

If you love horror, romance (with tragedy), and time loops, Love Everlasting Vol. 1 is the story for you. It’s a little bit like Groundhog Day, if Groundhog Day revolved around falling in love.

Review: X-Force Vol. 1: Fractures

I’ll admit, I was a bit on the fence about X-Force when I first started reading it. Mostly, I was keeping up with it because I was desperately trying (and somewhat failing) to keep up with all the comics in From the Ashes.

Review: The River Has Roots by Amal El-Mohtar

I knew that Amal El-Mohtar was going to deliver a beautiful fantasy tale here, but The River Has Roots far exceeded my expectations. This was a magical tale, and I’m not talking about the faerie magic.

Review: The Apothecary Diaries Vol. 12

This is my favorite volume of the series, thus far. If you’ve read it, you probably know why! The Apothecary Diaries Vol. 12 perfectly balances drama, romantic potential, and comedy. So it’s perfection.

Review: Love, Misha

Okay, so you pitch a graphic novel to me and you promise it’ll be just Spirited Away, with a dash of A Very Goofy Movie vibes, and you just know I’m gonna read it. So, I did! Love, Misha has some very solid comps, but it lives up to those set expectations.

Review: X-Factor Vol. 2: Know Your Enemy

Man, I thought the first volume was chaotic (and admittedly fun). X-Factor Vol. 2 leans even heavier into the commentary, satire, and yes, chaos. It’s a mixed bag, as there are some elements that I really enjoyed.

Review: The Emilie Adventures by Martha Wells

I am slowly (oh so slowly) working my way through Martha Wells’ back catalog. It helps that Tor has kindly been republishing a lot of her older works, giving me the motivation to pick up the pace (and the books!).

Man, Dandadan always finds new ways to up the ante, I’ll give it that! Dandadan Vol. 12 is a heavy-hitting volume that isn’t afraid to push each character to their limit. There’s an alien invasion in the works, everyone is at their limit, and both grandmas are too far away…

Review: Count My Lies by Sophie Stava

If you’re looking for a thriller full of twists, look no further! Count My Lies is full of surprising twists and turns. Some may feel expected, while others will seemingly come out of left field. This book is a full-blown rollercoaster.

Review: Solo Leveling Vol. 12

The end is near, and I don’t mean that in a doom-and-gloom sense. Solo Leveling is near the end of the series (though, by now, we all know that this was actually a prequel series). I’m a bit behind on actually reading the conclusion, but I’m getting there!

The fall of Krakoa shook everyone, readers and characters alike. At least, that’s how it felt to this reader. So, naturally, I tried to make a point of checking out all the new From the Ashes series, including X-Factor.

Review: The Nixian Chronicles: The Awakening by C.S. Evermore

The Nixian Chronicles: The Awakening throws readers into a bold, atmospheric, and wondrous world. Truthfully, I wish we had more time in this world before racing off to deal with Lyara and her newly minted magical problems.
