I'm always impressed by AOC, even when I think she's wrong. But I am really, really impressed that, despite all the goodies and long lunches that must come her way, she still cuts a movie star figure. That's evidence of an iron will.
A bus of Bronx middle schoolers pulled up to the Capitol this morning for a long-planned field trip just a few hours after the government shut down.

All Capitol tours were cancelled as the guides can’t work in shutdown.

So I escorted them in myself and gave them a personal tour. They were great!

So after laying off thousands of workers,Luxon is now blaming HealthNZ for this screw-up?

Who couldve seen that coming?

We could.

There will be more like this as the state sector is hollowed out & institutional knowledge lost. This was predictable & is on Luxons head.

What I love about Dean's commentary is his reluctance to take prisoners 😊
If we refuse to consider alternative mechanisms to patent monopolies, then that would be taking an oath to stupidity. We can and should recognize its merits, but also weigh it against alternatives. It's the failure to ever consider alternatives I consider objectionable
Well, other mechanisms would imply something other than a free market. I'm not arguing that a patent system is the only mechanism to incentive innovation, just that it serves a legitimate public interest lost in the free market.

Not sure what use there is for calling to an oath to stupidity though.

So, Black Caps are trying hard to gift this third test to England? Why? Colonial cringe?
