Yesterday, in addition to Dupont Circle, I saw them in the metro, when I took my kitties for their annual vet visit. Super awkward. They still very much feel everywhere from my perspective.

I confess I have not noticed a dwindling though at all. I have seen them more in neighborhoods which has honestly feels even more invasive than mostly metro. I see them on a daily basis in North Dupont, on R St between 9th and 14th, and Wednesday wandering around 8th St in Eastern Market.

Spanish Safeway used to have a different name, and there was a phase when it was called UnSafeway after a summer with a lot of shootings there, but I think other Safeway have had that name at other times.

We used to have a 2nd Safeway in Dupont on 20th st called Secret Safeway which then became Glenn's, then Dawson's, and now has been empty a few years.

Corcoran and 17th St location has been called Soviet Safeway since decades before I moved here (2008). It had covid19 shelves way before covid19 was even a thing. www.welovedc.com/2010/07/13/s...
