The stock market is no longer a reflection of the economy; however, when the economy really tanks, let’s see what happens then.
Been trying to explain why economy increasingly feels like it's running wholly on rich people passing each other same bag of money - innovation is stalled, unemployment is rising, but stock tickers are still somehow going up. This example captures the current state of our economy perfectly.

The truth is that almost every person in the Trump administration is a relatively new immigrant—1st, 2nd, or few at 3rd. Let that sink in. Is there a psychological pathology to that kind of self-hatred?

Today was my last day at the Eisenhower Library. I came across a 1964 letter Dwight Eisenhower wrote warning against “hate-filled people who set themselves up as super-patriots and, so doing, try to destroy the rights, liberties and opportunities of the average loyal American.” Worth heeding 🗃️

Someone once asked me why they should buy a book when they could buy 2 Starbucks lattes instead. Astounding. Because a writer might work on that book for a year or more. A barista spends a couple minutes before they say next.
As always, today is a good day to support a writer, an artist, a creator. If you have the means, commission an art piece, leave a tip, buy a book. Or you can always signal boost their work or write them a nice comment.

I have to admit, I was surprised when I learned that Charlie Kirk’s wife will receive his $12 million fortune, $5 million house, condo in AZ and beach house in FL and intends to continue his project. I’m assuming that if you continue to incite violence then you get more money?

I’m not saying it’s a cause and effect thing, but merely a fascinating coincidence. #CharlieKirk wanted the #EpsteinFiles released. Trump said that would be a “hostile act.” While Charlie Kirk was being killed, Congress ensured the files would not be released. Fascinating how that all played out.
