What a perceptive observation. I was a screenwriter for the BBC’s ‘Supervolcano’, about the world-changing eruption of Yellowstone. The hero dies in a noble but futile attempt to get help – or did until the exec producer changed the ending. ‘What sort of drama has the hero die?’ she protested. 🤷🏼♂️
After a steady diet of saviour film/telly, (all happy endings, no tragedy), we are now all quietly convinced that every thing just somehow works out in the end. That's why we're still not doing anything that will make an actual difference. That's why it's so easy to numb people with tech 'solutions'

<div class="field field-field-text"><p>Unicef said on Friday that two children have been killed a day since the implementation of the ceasefire in Gaza.</p>
<p>The UN agency said that at least 67 children had been killed since 10 October.</p>
<p>“Yesterday morning, a baby girl was reportedly killed in Khan Younis by an air strike, while the day before, seven children were killed in Gaza City and the south,” said Ricardo Pires, spokesperson for the UN children’s fund. </p>
<p>“There's only one party to the conflict in Gaza with the firepower to do air strikes,” Pires also told journalists.</p>
<p>Children's lives continue to remain under threat in Gaza from inadequate healthcare and a lack of food. </p>
