Librarian at Chicago-Kent College of Law, kitchen tourist, yarn hobbyist and cat roommate (the last two don't always mix well). Views my own.
This week has been an adventure in juggling spreadsheets and figuring out how to have 2-3 people be in 5-10 places at the same time for the start of 30-50 classes each day over 10-12 hours...

We're getting our steps in and my knees are feeling it. 🏃‍♀️📊🏃‍♀️🗓️🏃‍♀️🕕🏃‍♀️ 😮‍💨

I forgot until the end of the day (a very long day running around trying to fix all the things) I'd chosen these socks today.

I only verged on expressing this emotion once in a meeting today, though it may have been simmering at other times.

I'll take that as a win, I guess?

I definitely laughed at this last weekend:

Thanks to regular reports on the progress of the cherry blossoms in Chicago's Jackson Park by @ericallixrogers.com, we had a lovely hanami picnic today - it will get busier as more of the trees reach full bloom, but it was sunny and quiet today and we had a great time.

It's strange celebrating anything happening in politics, but I love the way @booker.senate.gov is giving credit to the hard work his staff did to prepare for today, the clarity with which he is continuing to stick to the point and invite anyone of any party to step up too

It took a while but I got the photo I wanted this evening! And in the meantime I got to listen to the birds and watch for budding plants and enjoy two young cats experiencing a bit of sensory overload, but in a good way

The way I cackled! I recently moved and pondered whether or not I should get rid of these books because I've never read them, then decided to tuck them into the back corner of a shelf just in case... They were an impulse buy years ago.

I am grateful for a quick & easy dinner using leftovers.

I also enjoy the journey of a Korean dish flavored with an American condiment that's a distant descendant of a sauce from Southeast Asia.

Ham + cheese in fried rice, topped with omelette and all doused with ketchup - omurice / omeu-raiseu

I'm lucky this is not my problem...

LOL... no judgement here... My only excuse is my brother shouldn't have bought me such a nice sharp knife... I swear the garden potluck didn't have blood in it, but that was mostly due to quick first aid.

I guess this is now my go-to fall dish to share, brought it to two potlucks this weekend after also making it for a barbecue not long ago.

I definitely plan to make it again and to make more recipes from the source, Isabel Eats blog: www.isabeleats.com/calabacitas-...

I've had this can of maple flavored Spam floating around my pantry for a bit - highly recommend pan frying it, as shown in this recipe from Eric Kim's Korean American cookbook. Not sure about figgy pudding spices, though! That sounds more challenging.

Since I'm using a drawing from my brother for my avatar, here's something that may be more recognizable for those who have met me offline now and then. Also my adorable roommates.

Mid November, 2024 - time to try a different sort of social media platform and see if it's as useful as the other ones once were.
