South Africans are calling the 49 "refugees" the Voetsekkers, which is a combination to the word Voortrekker (Afrikaaner version of the pioneers) and Voetsek (Afrikaans for "piss-off!").

The country probably hasn't been this united since it won the Rugby World Cup in 2023.
